What’s in your horse’s poo?

Have you ever had the shock of as you were cleaning your field or stable, you noticed something in your horse’s poo, that really shouldn’t be there?

It’s very common! Particularly after deworming your horse!

But if there is an infestation you may see signs at any time in your horse’s droppings.

In this post, we’ll show you some photos (many of which are from real clients) of what your horse might have + what you need to do about it.

PINWORM

Pinworm is VERY common. Other than seeing these white beansprout like worms, your horse may be really itchy.

This is rare to see them this big – these are Adult Pinworm expelled in the horse’s droppings

ROUNDWORM

Roundworm are often grey/white/translucent, like large worms

REDWORM

Like its name, Redworm is small spidery like red threads

BOTS

GRUBS + FLIES

Grubs! Sometimes, grubs, earthworms + fly larvae work their way into your horse poo + are nothing to worry about
